Great Sage Equaling Heaven is named Sun Wukong, one of a character in Journey to the West. He was born from the fairy stone since the beginning of the world, and became "Monkey King" --the king of all monkeys in the Waterfall Cave. Later, Wukong acknowledged Puti Zhushi as mentor for immortality, and also acquires some abilities like the 72 Earthly Transformations. But heaven suspects him and doesn't take him seriously, he styled himself "Great Sage Equalling Heaven".
